SMWW client Adrian McPherson Leads Balanced Alouettes Attack

Adrian
MacPhersonAdrian McPherson got the call once again for the Montreal Alouettes and responded in a big way.  McPherson orchestrated a dominating Alouettes performance in their 27-6 victory against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  Filling in for the injured Anthony Calvillo, McPherson showed that he can do more than just throw the football.

In a superb all-around performance, the former Florida State star accounted for 238 yards and a touchdown through the air while punishing the Tiger-Cats for an additional 121 yards rushing for the win.  McPherson has been battling injury for most of the 2010 season, missing the first 9 games while recovering from knee issues.  Despite missing a portion of the season, the 27-year-old McPherson showed why he was certainly worth the wait.  Looking ahead, the Alouettes will look to continue their strong play as they battle for first place in their division.

A former 5th round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2005, McPherson landed in the CFL and Montreal Alouettes in 2008 after a brief tenure in the AFL.  He is represented by Elliot Washington of SMWW.  A former point guard for the University of Alabama, Mr. Washington has been licensed with the NFLPA, 2 CFLPA, NBPA and is also a past member with The Sports Lawyers and Entertainment Association.  Look for McPherson to continue his strong play as the Alouettes forge ahead towards the playoffs.

SMWW Client Edward Britton to sign with the Arizona Rattlers
Edward BrittonEdward Britton, wide receiver out of Texas Tech, has been offered a contract to play for the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL for the upcoming season.  Britton was initially contacted by the San Francisco 49ers in the days leading up to this years NFL draft, however the team ultimately opted to go in another direction.
Britton's Agent Advisor, William Smith of SMWW, continued to go to battle for Britton by subsequently going to work on other options.  Smith sent Britton's film and information to every CFL club, and nearly had Britton heading to play for an organization within the CFL.  Roy Shivers, the Director of Player Personnel for the B.C. Lions, came across film of Britton and was extremely impressed with what he saw.  However, Britton's game film eventually ended up in the hands of a scout with the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL who immediately knew they had found the piece they had been searching for.  Their head coach and Director of Player Personnel, Kevin Guy, wanted to sign Britton instantly after viewing his film.  Later that same evening, an offer came in for Britton to join the team.
This offer gives Britton a chance to continue to pursue his life goal of one day playing in the NFL.  The Rattlers have assured Britton that they have what it takes to allow him to dominate the playing field, hopefully giving him the exposure and experience he needs to play his way up to the UFL, CFL, or NFL.
SMWW Client Ronnie Drummer Heading to CFL
Ronnie Drummer, the speedy and experienced running back out of Duke University, has secured a contract offer to play for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL.  Drummer's Agent Advisor from SMWW, Joe Tyler, successfully obtained a private workout for Drummer on August 31, 2010 with the Rough Riders.  Drummer had a solid workout and the team was very impressed with what they saw. Craig Smith, the Director of Player Personnel promptly contacted Drummer and Mr. Tyler with the hopes of offering him a contract.

After evaluating the contract with SMWW Director of Agency Operations Marcus Williams, Agent Advisor Joe Tyler is now in position to have his first client accept his first professional contract.
