The Playbook - Not Everyone Wants to Post Every Day — And That’s Okay

Not everyone wants to post every day on LinkedIn. And that’s okay.
You do not have to flood your feed to build credibility in the sports industry. What matters most is showing up with purpose. When people look at your profile, your comments, and your overall presence, they are asking one question: Does this person look like someone I want on my team?
Credibility Comes from Engagement, Not Volume
You can build a strong presence on LinkedIn without ever creating original posts. Start by showing up consistently in smaller, more meaningful ways.
- Comment thoughtfully on articles or updates from people in your network. Add insight or ask a follow-up question.
- React to industry news or SMWW posts to show that you are paying attention to trends.
- Congratulate others on their career moves. Sports is a small world, and goodwill travels fast.
- Share learning moments. If something in a course, book, or conference sparked an idea, post a short note about what stood out to you.
You do not need to be loud to be visible. You need to be consistent.
Think of LinkedIn as a Professional Locker Room
It is where your peers, mentors, and potential employers gather. If you only walk through once a month, people forget you are there. If you stop by regularly, contribute to conversations, and stay engaged, your name becomes familiar.
That familiarity often leads to opportunity.
Your Digital Presence Should Match Your Real-World Reputation
When someone you meet at an event looks you up, your profile and recent activity should confirm what they sensed about you in person — that you are curious, reliable, and engaged in your field.
So do not worry about posting every day. Worry about being intentional when you do. Small, consistent actions build credibility over time.
Ask yourself this: if someone reviewed your LinkedIn activity right now, would they see the professional story you want to tell?
