Born and raised in Amsterdam, Maikel grew up in a soccer family and went on to play professionally for eight years in Holland, Spain, and the United States. Since then, he’s turned his playing career into a powerhouse role on the business side of sports — representing athletes, teaching future agents and executives, and guiding students into the industry he knows best.
As Director of Soccer Operations with SMWW, Maikel runs some of SMWW’s most popular courses, including the Soccer Agent Course, Soccer GM & Scouting Course, and FIFA Agent Prep Course. His experience spans every corner of the game — from coaching and operations to player representation and international management.

Maikel’s Background
After moving to the U.S. in 2004, Maikel balanced a career in finance with his passion for soccer. He served as a financial specialist for major institutions while simultaneously leading soccer programs as a Director of Coaching, high school coach, and Sports Director for the Special Olympics Hawaii.
This unique mix of business acumen, coaching experience, and international playing career set the foundation for his current role as Director of Soccer Operations at SMWW. Today, he helps aspiring agents, executives, and scouts gain the skills, connections, and confidence to succeed in the global soccer industry.
