Ermay Duran is a seasoned basketball analyst, scout, and consultant with over 20 years of experience across the U.S., Europe, and Turkey. As a Global Ambassador for Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW), he is dedicated to guiding aspiring basketball professionals through mentorship, education, and real-world insight.
Ermay is the Founder of Advance Pro Basketball, a Europe-based basketball analytics and consulting company that supports professional clubs across the continent. Since 2014, he has helped more than 20 NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA athletes secure playing opportunities overseas, specializing in European placements.
A former professional player whose career ended due to injury, Ermay transitioned into the business and analytics side of the game. He is a proud graduate of SMWW’s Basketball GM & Scouting Course led by Rick Sund and Carl Berman, as well as the Basketball Analytics Course led by Dean Oliver, both of which have helped shape his data-driven approach to talent evaluation and team support.
Ermay also serves as an Analytics Course Instructor for NetScouts Basketball, is a member of the Association for Professional Basketball Research (APBR), and regularly attends the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference. His academic background includes two Master’s degrees in International Business and Sports Marketing, with a focus on strategy and global sports development.
Known for his deep connections within the Turkish and European basketball communities, Ermay continues to use his expertise to connect talented athletes with meaningful opportunities—and to represent the mission and values of SMWW on a global scale.
