The Athlete Management course provides aspiring sports agents the skills, strategies, and requirements to represent professional athletes. The Athlete Management course provides the foundation for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a sports agent. It is the only sports agent course in the world, complemented by live weekly audio chats between instructors and certified NFL agent Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, current SMWW Agents and various certified agents and fellow students.
The Athlete Management course is an overview of the issues involved with athlete management. It is designed as a roadmap of the registration process (required in some states and in the various leagues) and a discussion about the various facets of a subsequent career in the athlete representation field. Joel was a Sports Agent for 16 years, representing NFL & NBA
players. In 1992 at Management Plus Enterprises, who represented top-level athletes including Ronnie Lott, Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquille O'Neal. Joel left Management Plus in 1995 to co-found Premier Sports and Entertainment, which focused on representing NFL players, college and NFL coaches. He was the primary and co-negotiator of numerous NFL player contracts, including Hall of Famer John Randle's 5-year, $32.5 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings (1998), Patrick Surtain's 6-year, $44.63 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs (2005), which made Patrick the highest paid player in the franchise's history. Randle's contract made him the NFL's highest paid defensive player with unprecedented guarantees that have become the norm in the most lucrative NFL contracts. Other Premier clients included Pro Bowlers Eric Allen, Keenan McCardell and Jimmy Smith. Joel served as a consultant with Management Plus for several years after starting Premier. As a consultant, he played an integral part in the negotiation of Shaquille O'Neal's Los Angeles Lakers contracts ($120 million over 7 years & subsequent 3-year, $88.3 million extension).
In 2012, Joel became a contributing writer for the National Football Post. He uses his NFL salary cap and collective bargaining agreement knowledge to provide a perspective on player salaries, contract negotiations and the salary cap that is rarely seen in the media. In 2013, Joel began writing for CBSSports.com on similar topics, but for a larger audience. Joel also appears regularly on radio shows, including SiriusXM NFL Radio.
John Print, SMWW Director of Soccer, is a certified FIFA certified agent representing Sports International Management, a sports agency based in London, England. John has been a licensed players' agent by the English FA for over five years. During this time he has represented players and clubs at all levels across Europe and North America. He also has considerable experience of player sponsorship and endorsements working in collaboration with many high profile players and brands. John has been involved within the sports industry for over ten years, specializing in sports public relations and international sport relations. John holds a degree in Marketing and a Postgraduate Masters degree in Sports Law. John and his partners represent soccer, cricket, and rugby union players, in addition to Olympic athletes. Tony Ciccolella, SMWW Director of Baseball is a MLB Certified Agent. Tony earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Embry Riddle University and his Master Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications from Golden Gate University. After working as a Corporate Recruiter for some of the largest Fortune 500 Companies in the world, he decided to combine both skills and his love for sports and formed Excess Sports Management. Tony is Athlete Management graduate who went on to succesfully start his own agency with fellow Athlete Management graduate Van Shumake. Tim Cranston, SMWW Director of Hockey, and NHL Certified Agent located in Canada. Tim is the President of Cranston Sports Management and at one time trained or represented such hockey stars as Sidney Crosby (Pittsburg), Marek Svatos (Colorado), Petr Vrana (New Jersey), Ole-Kristian Tollefesen (Columbus), Jonathan Boutin (Tampa Bay), Kevin Cormier (Phoenix), Jan Steber (Toronto), and David Kuchejda (Chicago). Jeff Brodie, SMWW Director of Basketball and NBA Certified Agent. Jeff joined Sports Management Worldwide in 2008, and achieved the status of Director of Basketball Operations in 2009. He became a NBA certified agent in 2010. Jeff received his Bachelor of Science in Personal Finance from Oregon State University and his MBA at Marylhurst University. He has carried that financial knowledge over to the business of basketball. Combining his education and professional experience, Jeff has been in the finance industry for over 10 years. Jeff is widely respected for his relational talents, communication skills and his proven ability to motivate, train, and mentor Basketball Agents. Jeff works closely with NetScouts Basketball, the International Basketball Connection which provides consulting and scouting for basketball teams worldwide.

Soccer Agent Option: For those individuals whose main focus is representing professional soccer players worldwide we offer an optional focus on FIFA certification. This is an additional academic foundation for individuals interested in pursuing a career as Soccer Agents. This is designed to provide an induction into the rules and regulations set by FIFA and the football agency business. For those interested in becoming FIFA certified, this course will prepare students for the FIFA agent exam.
