Understanding the Technology of Hockey Scouting
Like most professional sports leagues, hockey is embracing a shift to new scouting techniques using specific software for video analysis and analytics. Students in our Hockey GM and Scouting course will receive training and hands-on experience using the cutting edge technology being implemented by hockey teams worldwide.
SMWW has partnered with RinkNet scouting software to provide Hockey GM & Scouting course students with training on their top level scouting and player management software.
Since 1998, RinkNet has been providing hockey teams, leagues and scouts access to daily updated rosters, schedules and player information for all leagues worldwide. As a scouting tool, RinkNet is the most widely utilized software in the hockey world, with the ability to rank, analyze and obtain information from over 250,000 players in the RinkNet system.
Upon completion of RinkNet training, interested students are eligible to be paid on a per game basis to video games near them. RinkNet will pay out of pocket expenses including travel and admission.
In addition to RinkNet, students will receive training and instruction on Steva video analysis software, the NHL's official provider of scouting video content. The Steva hockey software allows coaches to easily analyze video of games and practices.
