John Wooten
John Wooten is fondly referred to as the "Godfather of the NFL."

John has been involved in the NFL at every level of the game for over 50 years. He has won NFL & Super Bowl titles. John is currently Chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which works closely with the NFL. Every team in the NFL has been impacted by John and his goal to increase job opportunities for minorities in the league.
Quote from NFL Sr. Executive VP for Football Operations, Ray Anderson reflecting on John Wooten’s 50 year contribution to the NFL:
“Respectfully, professionally and affectionately John Wooten is known as the Godfather, not just because of his age or longevity, but because of the breath and depth of his service and what he has meant to the NFL as a player, scout and front office executive. He has had an unbelievable presence aside from those roles with his work as chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance. When you say John Wooten coupled with Dan Rooney you have two gentlemen who have made more of a difference for the cause of equal opportunity and diversity in the NFL than anyone that has ever graced our business.”
As a player, John was an All American guard at the University of Colorado. John was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1959 and went on to play nine professional seasons with the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and the Washington Redskins. John opened up holes for Hall of Famer Jim Brown in the sixties, winning the Super Bowl game in 1964. Following his playing days, John had a variety of roles on various teams in the NFL. His job titles over 40 years have included Player Personnel, Director of Pro Personnel, Director of Player Programs, Vice President, Director of Scouting, and Consultant. Teams John has worked for in these positions include the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Baltimore Ravens, the NFL, and the NFLPA. John even had a stint as a sports agent. John has three championship rings, one from the 1964 Browns, the 1977 Cowboys, and the 2000 Ravens.
John Wooten has a deep commitment to the communities he has lived in and understands the value of giving back. He is one of the most well connected people in the NFL. You will love learning from this natural mentor while enjoying his genuine spirit and years of wisdom.
