The SMWW Sports Broadcasting Course was an excellent experience. Through the weekly readings and assignments, along with the weekly chats I had so much fun working on my style and interpretation with the other students. SMWW Grad Covers Beijing Olympics:
SMWW Sports Broadcasting Grad, Don Oyao, had the summer of a lifetime reporting for KCXL Integrity Sports at the Summer Olympics in Beijing. Through his affiliation with Seychelles National Olympics, Oyao was able to travel the world consulting as a sports doctor and in his spare time, reporting on the games he attended.
For three months leading up to the Summer Olympics, Oyao covered events in St. Petersburg, Russia, Bologna, Italy, Cairo, Egypt, Paris, France and then finally the Olympics in Bejing. Every Wednesday, Listeners in Kansas City, MO heard Oyao's take on international competition and the events of the Olympic Games.

"My love for sports and now my ability to share my passion and knowledge for sport has taken far and outreaching steps that I only had dreamed about, now it is becoming a reality."

SMWW is a unique educational system. In this time of economic chaos, students want to secure an education that will give them a return on their investment. Having been a former professor, I have designed a few certificates to try and enforce courses targeted at helping the student achieve success in the "real world". I have many times been let down because of feeling like a little ship on a big ocean. Coaching basketball for six years was the only time I felt any success so I have returned to my passion with an institution that cares about it's students success.

The Sports Broadcasting course is top notch. The training materials are thorough and enjoyable, and the live audio chats are a great way to get instant feedback from professional broadcasters. I recommend this course to any aspiring sports broadcaster that is looking to get into the business and gain valuable knowledge.

The hands-on experience you gain from the job shadow and informational interviews and play by play segments give the student the experience he or she could not get without having job experience in the field. SMWW helps the student realize if they have the passion to pursue a particular field.

I do not believe there is a better way to gain exposure to this much substantial material in a shorter period. You simply cannot effectively learn more in less time. Also the Audacity training tool is a gift that keeps on giving being that it can be used for the rest of your career as a broadcaster.

An educational experience, highly recommended for those individuals who aspire to become broadcasters. The course requirements were appropriate, the computer technology was impressive, and the staff was courteous and competent. Keep up the good work!

When I signed up for this course I really didn't know what to expect, I figured I would get some knowledge on how to do a broadcast and nothing else. 8 weeks later I have made some great friends and even have an internship with a local radio station. Thank you SMWW!
