Baseball GM Course 

Sports Management Worldwide will be offering new courses later this summer for those interested in a General Manager position in the front office of a sports team. ESPN's Rob Neyer has verbally committed to being the instructor for the Baseball GM course.

Sports Management Worldwide is also working on GM courses for football and basketball. Sports Management Worldwide believes that anyone interested in taking this course can benefit from the Sports Revenue Management Course (SRM) that is currently being offered.  SRM is designed to help students understand how an organization generates revenue from the bottom up. Athlete Management- The Athlete Management 400 course provides the academic foundation for individuals interested in pursuing a career as a sports agent. It is complimented by weekly audio chats between instructor Dr. Lynn Lashbrook and students. This introductory course is an overview of the issues involved with sports management. It is designed as a roadmap of the registration process (required in some states and in the various leagues) and a discussion about the various facets of a subsequent career in the athlete representation field.

Sports Revenue Management- Sports Revenue Management course offers you the opportunity to learn the skills professional and collegiate sports organizations look for when hiring new employees. This is a premiere, one of a kind, 8 week online course for individuals who are passionate about sports and want to work in the front office of a professional or collegiate sports team. Individuals who take this course will be catapulted to the top of the hiring lines because they have the specific skills and training that teams look for when hiring new employees.

Professional FB Scouting Course The first ever course offered in the world on how to be a successful scout in professional football.  Dan Shoenke, a 15 year vertern of nfl scouting and author of the only book ever written on football scouting, will be the course facilitator. 

Sports Broadcasting Course -  This unique course takes into considereation the lastest technology and techniques of the industry. Dr. Lashbrook believes now more than ever, individuals who aspire to be sports broadcasters can learn the business by doing the play by play for their local team and by keeping up with the future of the industry's technology - webcasting.  

High School Athletic Director For The New Era - "For the Athletic Director of the future, it is imperative that they learn to deal with the funding crisis in education nationwide," said Dr. Lashbrook, "High school sports programs will soon need to be run like a college program; finding ways to enhance revenues while maintaining cost controls and having a full menu of offerings for student athletes."


 
 
 

 

Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, President of Sports Management Worldwide, has served as an Athletic Director at two universities as well as the head of the Academic Advisors Association for Athletes with the NCAA.  He has been a professor at the collegiate level for 32 years and continues to teach at Western Oregon University, Oregon State University and is also head of the Sports Management Master's Degree Program at Nova South Eastern University.  He has also been a certified NFL sports agent for 12 years, representing 20 NFL players.
