The Pro Basketball Summer League is in Las Vegas, Nevada every July. Teams consist of players who have been in the NBA for 3 years or fewer as well as newly drafted talent. It gives Rookies a chance to practice against other players that are new to the NBA. Games are held throughout the ten days at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the University of Nevada Las Vegas Campus. Tickets are available to the public at the gate each day.

What:

The SMWW Basketball Career Conference is held during the Pro Basketball Summer League Games to have access to NBA Executives and to allow attendees to network in the backdrop of professional basketball.

This one day SMWW Basketball Career Conference will give you valuable insight into a variety of careers from those working at the highest level in basketball! This well known career conference offers unique panel discussions and question-answer periods designed to start or advance your career on the business of basketball. The day will be split up into diverse speaker panels:

Saturday, July 19, 2014 3pm- 9:00pm:
NBA Summer League games till 9pm. Purchase your ticket at the gate. All all day pass includes all games that day. (You are welcome to attend games on Friday and Sunday.)

Who: 

Anyone 18 years or older. This conference is ideal to anyone interested in working or currently working in professional sports, but particularly professional basketball. Attendees currently employed by a team or registered NBAPA agents are invited at a discount due to the fact they might want to skip some panels.

Networking Opportunities:

One of the advantages of this conference is the ability to network within the industry with front office staff from professional teams and fellow basketball minded indviduals. Some work for a team, others are looking to break into the industry. Following their presentations, most speakers chat one on one with attendees. Most attendees come alone, but make many new friends, and peers within the industry. And they return year after year!

College Credit: (optional)

  Most attendees are not college students but sports people looking to start or advance their career in professional or collegiate sportsl. However, for those of you who are in college and would like transferable credits (graduate or undergraduate) to your school, one hour of college credit is available. 

Tickets to Vegas Summer League games:

 An all day pass may be purchased at the gate and includes games in both the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavillion. Games start at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm.  Your All Day Pass will get you into all 4 games that day. See 8 NBA teams in one day! Additional tickets for extra days may be purchased at the event each day. 

Las Vegas Summer League Information: 

Twenty-four NBA teams, including the Utah Jazz, which will be making its first appearance, will compete in the 2014 NBA Summer League July 11-21, at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

The Jazz will join 22 other NBA teams and a team of NBA Development League select players in a tournament-style format to crown the NBA Summer League Champion. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 11-15, before being seeded in a tournament running through the Championship Game on July 21. Saturday, July 19, the Elite Eight will play off.

Note: The SMWW Basketball Career Conference in not inconjunction with the NBA Summer League. It is held at the same time so that we are close to as many basketball executives who can network and speak to our group.
