The Pro Basketball Summer League is in Las Vegas, Nevada every July. Teams consist of players who have been in the NBA for 3 years or fewer as well as newly drafted talent. It gives Rookies a chance to practice against other players that are new to the NBA. Games are held throughout the ten days at Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the University of Nevada Las Vegas Campus. Tickets are available to the public at the gate each day.

Visit Las Vegas as it becomes the basketball capital of the World during the month of July! In addition to the Vegas Summer League Games, NBA teams conduct private workouts for free agents. The NBA Coaches Association holds a Ping-Pong tournament. The NBA league has ownership and Competition Committee meetings. USA Basketball hosts a training session right after the Summer League Games host their Championship.

What:

The SMWW Basketball Career Conference is held during the Pro Basketball Summer League Games to have access to NBA Executives and to allow attendees to network in the backdrop of professional basketball.

This one day SMWW Basketball Career Conference will give you valuable insight into a variety of careers from those working at the highest level in basketball! This well known career conference offers unique panel discussions and question-answer periods designed to start or advance your career on the business of basketball. Saturday, July 9th, 2016

9am-4pm:
Conference sessions include keynote speakers and panels. Agency, Scouting, Media & Communications, Marketing, tips and strategies on breaking in and moving up on the business side of Basketball.

3pm- 9:00pm:
NBA Summer League games till 9pm. Purchase your ticket at the gate. All all day pass includes all games that day. (You are welcome to attend games on Friday and Sunday on your own.)

One of the advantages of this conference is the ability to network within the industry with front office staff from professional teams and fellow basketball minded indviduals. Some work for a team, others are looking to break into the industry. Following their presentations, most speakers chat one on one with attendees. Most attendees come alone, but make many new friends, and peers within the industry. And they return year after year!

College Credit (optional)

Most attendees are not college students but sports people looking to start or advance their career in professional or collegiate sports. However, for those of you who are in college and would like transferable credits to your school, one hour of college credit is available. 

Tickets to Vegas Summer League Games

An all day pass may be purchased at the gate and includes games in both the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavillion. Games start at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm.  Your All Day Pass will get you into all 4 games that day. See 8 NBA teams in one day! Additional tickets for extra days may be purchased at the event each day.
 

Las Vegas Summer League Information

Twenty-three NBA teams competed in the 2015 NBA Summer League, at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

In addition a team of NBA Development League select players will join the NBA teams. Games are played in a tournament-style format to crown the NBA Summer League Champion. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games before being seeded in a tournament running through the Championship Game. Saturday, July 18, the Elite Eight will play off.

Scholarships

SMWW will award a limited amount of full and partial scholarships for each SMWW Career Conference. You must be 18 years or older to be considered. If interested, fill out an application and submit your resume and one page letter explaining why you should receive a scholarship to StudentServices@smww.com.

Scholarships do not include lodging or airfare. Those who have completed an SMWW training program will be given preference.
