Ume-Ezeoke played in 10 games during his 2010 sophomore season, recording a total of 49 tackles, including 6 tackles for loss and 1 sack. Recorded 2 pass break ups as well.

Ume-Ezeoke came to Ouachita after playing under head coach Don Willis at Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland. While at Lakeview, Ume-Ezeoke lettered three years and was named to the All-State 5A Team. He was also named to 1st Team All-District MVP and Team Defensive MVP.
