Clair has been involved in hockey his entire life - as a player, coach, and scout.

 

As a player, Clair was a member of the 1990 Memorial Cup Championship team the Oshawa Generals, playing along side future Hall of Famer Eric Lindros.  Other teammates included Rob Pearson, Brent Grieve, Mike Craig, Iain Fraser, Bill Armstrong, Dale Craigwell, and Jarrod Skalde who all went on to play in the National Hockey League.

 

After his playing career, Clair focused on coaching and player development, spending 5 years as Coach of the Port Perry Mojacks Junior Hockey Club, before moving to the coaching staff of the Central Ontario Wolves AAA U18 Hockey Club.  For the past 3 seasons, Clair has been a member of the scouting staff of the Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League.  


With the recent explosion of Hockey Analytics, Clair has been become knowledgeable in the application of analytics in hockey, having collaborated on a number of analytical projects with others working at the NHL, AHL and Junior levels of the game.  

 

Clair joins the SMWW Faculty and will provide students involved in the Hockey Analytics course first hand knowledge of the various uses of Hockey Analytics in player and team evaluations.
