After a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sports Management Worldwide will return for its 14th edition of its NHL Draft Hockey Career Conference. This year, the conference returns to one of the hallowed grounds of hockey in Montreal, Quebec.
The draft itself is hyped beyond measure. Not only did the hometown Canadiens win the number one overall pick at this year's lottery draft, but tickets to the event sold out within minutes. Fans from all over the globe were said to have logged in the hundreds of thousands for a chance to grab one of the few thousand tickets left at the Bell Centre in order to watch the parade of young prospects see their dreams come true and get selected by an NHL team.
Despite the NHL Draft being sold out, SMWW’s Hockey Career Conference includes 100-level tickets to BOTH days of the draft. You’ll get to see the players, coaches, execs, and commissioner up close and personal.
Its yearly conference consists of speakers from all corners of hockey. From general managers to coaches, to scouts, players and even members of the media. Prominent names such as legendary executives Brian Burke, Harry Sinden and Ken Holland, New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider, New York Post journalist Larry Brooks, Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas, NHL agent Pat Brisson, and current Montreal Canadiens Vice President of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton, just to name a few!
The speakers don't only speak from an NHL level. Representatives from the AHL and CHL/QMJHL levels also come and speak about not only what happens in the day-to-day life of hockey operations, but how to start your career in hockey! This is your first step towards figuring out what path is right for you and where you see yourself in the world of hockey.
