In the spring of 1981, Ernie DiStefano was a professional pitching prospect for the Cincinnati Reds until an arm injury ended his dream of a professional baseball career. Since then, he has devoted himself to working with athletes as a coach, baseball scout and sports counselor. Ernie is currently a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and a former member of the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sports Psychology (AAASP). He was also the founder of Operation Comeback, a program offering assistance to professional and amateur athletes that addresses issues affecting athletic performance, while remaining Nationally Certified as a sports counselor through the National Institute of Sports Professionals.

Ernie DiStefano’s new book, THE HAPPY ATHLETE, chronicles several real youth athletic experiences, including that of his daughter, as they moved through several levels of sports competition.
