The Athlete Management 400 course is facilitated through the use of WebCT, a web-based educational delivery system currently being used by hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the United States. WebCT (short for Web Course Tools) was developed in the late 1990s at the University of British Columbia to enhance academic courses with web-based tools. Instructors and students access and utilize WebCT, which includes an impressive collection of learning tools, through their individual web browsers.

WebCT is the largest, most successful platform for the delivery of online education in the world, with more than 2,100 colleges and universities in 75 countries among their partner institutions. Many of the most prestigious American institutions - Stanford, Berkeley, Yale, Brown, Cornell, Colgate, among them - are partners with WebCT and offer a wide variety of online programs using the platform.
