INTERNSHIPS
SMWW offer internship opportunities throughout the year in both our Portland and London offices. Strong candidates will always find a place at SMWW! We are proud to say that our interns have gone on to work in a variety of professional sports venues all over the world. We are also proud of the fact that most of our full time employees were originally interns with us at SMWW. SMWW’s internship program has a strong track record to a successful career in sports. Many of our interns leave SMWW to immediately join a sports property and get their career started in sports!
The goal of our internship program is to customize every student’s experience by providing practical opportunities for developing skills, strategies and job experience in the field of sports business. SMWW interns are included in every asset of our business and we invite them to sit in on business meetings and be a part of our conferences taking place at some of the most exciting sports events all over the world. SMWW is a fun learning environment with an open office that is conducive to a positive learning experience for anyone who desires to learn more about the exciting world of working in sports.
SMWW Internships are non-paid, credit only positions offered for spring, summer, fall and winter terms with flexible start and finish dates. We ask that students be prepared to work 20 hours per week for a minimum of three months. This level of commitment is important because we invest substantial resources into training and developing our interns. However, we are flexible with accommodating college schedules and any other part time employment commitments.
Examples of skills and projects our Interns participate in:
- Assisting with the writing and disseminating of scouting reports

Communications projects for our websites

Developing grass-roots marketing programs

Assisting with SMWW development of training courses

Developing press kits and generating publicity for SMWW

Developing marketing materials for professional athletes

Event management experience for SMWW events

Business development research
To be considered for a SMWW internship we ask that you first apply for one of our sports career training courses in the careers or careers field you are most interested.
