SMWW NFL Clients in Training Camp
A few of SMWW NFL Clients have had a strong showing at training camp thus far. Performance reviews have all been positive. Read more on individual training camp updates below.

Akeem Jordan
Akeem Jordan

Jordan looks to bounce back this season after being injured for much of last season.  The Eagles are excited to have him back and have liked what they've seen from him thus far.  Jordan has been seeing significant time playing the strong outside linebacker position with the first team unit this training camp.  The Eagles coaching staff is hoping to have a stronger linebacker unit this upcoming season with Jordan back in the mix.

Eagles Notes: Jordan and Fokou competing at strong-side linebacker

Matt
                                                Moore
Matt Moore

The Oregon State product enters the 2010-2011 season as the Panther's starting quarterback for the first time in his young, promising career.  Last season Moore was given the opportunity to start 5 games when starter Jake Delhomme went down and he made the most of his opportunity.  Moore was 4-1 in those games, throwing 8 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions, and showed smart decision making that is crucial to playing the quarterback position.  Through those five games Moore was able to gain the respect of his teammates and the confidence in the coaching staff.  Expect to see big things from Moore this upcoming season.
Opportunity Knocks for Panthers quarterback Moore

Cort Johnson

Cort Johnson, the San Diego Charger rookie punter, reported to camp this past week.  Johnson, who just months ago was substitute teaching in Amarillo, Texas, is working hard as he competes for a roster spot. Throughout camp Johnson has been learning as much as he can from veteran punter Mike Scrifres, especially the backspin; That same backspin that Scrifres' has built a reputation for pinning opponents inside their 10 yard line.

Ross Weaver

The former Michigan State Spartan signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent. Weaver, a cornerback, has good size for his position and is working hard for a roster spot.  Competition is tough, but if he can show his value on special teams the Dolphins will find a place for him.

Dion Gales

Gales enters his second training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.  The former Troy Trojan spent much of last season on the Chiefs practice squad until being promoted to the 53 man roster due to injuries.  This season the Chiefs expect Gales to be an important piece to their defensive line rotation.

The championship also allows our commercial partners to target an audience that already has their attention; however, with the teams approach to carbon reduction it continues to constantly generate Media and PR interest from around the world.

SMWW Football Agency Update
New SMWW Globe LogoSMWW client Armond Willis signs 2 year contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

SMWW Agent Advisor Michael LaCourt represents the 6-2, 232 pound defensive end out of FIU. After going undrafted in the 2010 NFL draft, Michael was able to secure a mini camp invitation to the Detroit Lions for his client. After a spirited attempt to land a roster spot with the Lions, Armond found himself still looking for an offer from a team for the 2010 season. On July 3rd 2010 both Willis and his Agent Advisor received an early Independence Day gift in the form of an offer sheet from Ross Hodgkinson, Assistant General Manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. It was a great experience for Michael to facilitate this offer through it acceptance with SMWW Agency Director Marcus Williams. Willis took an expedited flight out of town and is now in camp with the Blue Bombers preparing for his new role as a CFL player. SMWW client rises to starter status

SMWW Agent Advisors Albert Thomas and John Oluyole represent Dominie Pitman who has been recently named as the starting rush defensive end for the B.C. Lions of the Canadian Football League. Pitman came from Division 2 Northern Alabama where he managed to finish among the conference leaders in sacks even though he was inexplicably reduced to a backup in his senior year. Pittman had doubts initially about his potential to play professionally having not received any awards in college. It was the encouragement of his Agent Advisors who got him to attend a free agent tryout with the Lions where he met General Manager and Head coach Wally Bouno. Wally was able to convince Pittman that he had a shot and to accept the invitation to come to camp. It was in camp where Pittman was able to show defensive line coach Rich Stubler why it was good decision to break a tradition spanning more than 3 decades of not starting pure rookies with him. Read more on Pittman's path to the starting lineup: http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Rookies+rise+starter+status/3223606/story.html#ixzz0t1KjRfRj
