question Do I really get to talk to Derek Bragg and other professional soccer executives weekly?

answerThroughout the eight week course, Derek Bragg will lead a weekly audio chat via the internet. Derek and his company, The Scouting Network, have scouted over 30,000 soccer players and cater to clients like Manchester United and other well know professional football clubs. This hour long question and answer audio discussion with Derek Bragg who has trained Soccer Scouts all over the world will increase your "insider" knowledge of the business side of the game and help you network within professional soccer. Soccer and international football executives will join Derek and including guest speaker Mark Washo who has worked for Major League Soccer teams including NYC Metro Stars, DC United, and the Washington Wizards. Mark is currently the VP of Marketing for the MLS Chicago Fire. You will enjoy networking with fellow students who are either working in soccer currently or will be in the future. If you miss a chat they are archived and you can listen when it is convenient for you.

question Do I need any special equipment or books for the course?

answerThe books for the course and a microphone/headset are sent directly to your home from SMWW office. Some of the books or materials are so specific that they are either out of print or not sold in any bookstore. You will need a computer with access to the internet. (Includes Soccer Scouting materials used by The Scouting Network.)


question This all sounds to high tech for me, I don't know very much about computer technology.

answerDon't worry. We have many students who have felt the same way. SMWW has a technical support team who not only knows computers and can get your microphone working, (even if you didn't know you had one), but they loves sports! As long as you have a computer and access to the internet, we can help you with the rest!
