Tom Leip, Sports Business Management Professor MRX Associates Tom Leip, along with Bret Polvorosa, teaches the Sports Business Management class. Leip, a native of St. Louis and graduate of William Jewell College did graduate work at Ohio University in sports administration after making a career change from journalism. He spent 20 years working in minor-league sports (baseball, hockey and soccer) in markets like Rochester, Nashville, Eugene, Spokane, the Twin Cities and Portland. He has been the top executive for organizations operating multiple teams and broadcast entities, the top executive for a league, a consultant and a collegiate administrator. He now lives in Aloha, a suburb of Portland, with his wife of 22 years, 15-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. He is presently in charge of Team Media Sales for North America for Lulu Sports and MRX Associates. Bret Polvorosa, Sports Business Management ProfessorGRIP President and Founder Bret Polvorosa is GRIP's principal and the driving force behind many successful sports sales & service training partnerships throughout the country. Prior to launching GRIP in 2002, Polvorosa’s sports marketing background included stints for teams within the NBA, Minor League Baseball and the Canadian Hockey League, in addition to the sales and marketing of two United States Golf Association (USGA) Championships and spending two years as the Director of Executive Training for an international sports consulting firm. Today, Bret and Grip focus on helping businesses, primarily in the sports sector, by developing customized training programs that focus on strengthening revenue and enhancing client retention. Bret is a sought after industry speaker and has written articles for numerous sports marketing publications. Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, Sports Business Management ProfessorSports Management Worldwide President and Founder Dr. G. Lynn Lashbrook has been working and teaching in Sports Management for over 30 years and has demonstrated a lifelong passion for helping students strategize and reach their career goals in the world of sports. Dr. Lashbrook has served at the collegiate level as an athletic academic advisor and athletic director. At the professional level he has been an NFL sports agent for the past 12 years with over 20 clients in the NFL. He has recently created the first ever online sports management company with a mission to educate people who have a passion for a career in sports business. |
